Adrift follows a mermaid Djinn in the desert, who is traveling through spaces that are simultaneously deeply familiar and completely alien to her . The film showcases acrobatics, dance, and The Bridge, a new apparatus envisioned by India Davis and built by Eric Newquist. Shot at White Sands National Monument, Adrift touches on India’s relationship to the African Diaspora, Spirits, and the timeless space inhabited by Ancestors and the Journeyer.
